Here are some daily menus that comprise my “normal” food intake during the winter months. I try to buy as much organic produce, wild-caught fish, grass-fed beef, and free-range chicken and eggs as I can afford. Throughout the day I consume 1 liter of water for every 50 pounds of weight (that’s 8 cups per day for a 100-pound person).
Breakfast
Two-egg omelet with sauteed veggies, piece of sprouted-grain bread with butter or coconut oil plus a spoonful of almond butter, ginger tea
Leftover meat and veggies from last night’s dinner, piece of wheat bread (made from freshly-ground wheat) with butter or coconut oil plus a spoonful of almond butter, ginger tea
Two eggs over easy, piece of sprouted-grain bread with guacamole, ginger tea
Morning snack
Apple, pear or orange, sometimes with about 12 raw almonds
Lunch
Chicken sandwich, carrot crinkles
Soup (homemade, of course) with a piece of wheat bread spread with guacamole
Salad loaded with veggies, walnuts, sprouts, and maybe some hard-boiled egg, topped with olive oil, salt, and pepper, or an apple-cider vinaigrette. Sprouted-grain bread with butter.
Afternoon snack
Apple and almond butter for dipping
12 raw almonds or a handful of raw walnuts
Dinner
Fish, veggie sauté, salad with walnuts and hard-boiled egg
Beef pattie with caramelized onions and lettuce on sprouted-grain bun, carrot crinkles
Chicken thighs, quinoa with roasted veggies, sliced cucumber, carrot crinkles
Beef stew, piece of sprouted-grain bread, salad with lots of veggies
Before-Bed Brew
Apple Cider Vinegar Tea (read about it in my post on 4.11.2010)
Evening snack (only if needed)
12 raw almonds or a handful of walnuts
Apple with almond butter for dipping
Piece of sprouted-grain toast with guacamole

I tasted a great ginger tea recently so I’m gonna share – the same procedure for ginger as what you posted plus couple leaves of peppermint, small slice of lime, and a little bit of cloves to stimulate immune system. And tastes good
Great idea, Julia! Thanks for the tip.
and I’m glad I know at least one more person who thinks that eating veggies for breakfast is normal and healthy. Yay to healthy food!
It probably helps that you live in Russia and haven’t been totally duped into the Western diet. So… do you ever eat at McDonald’s?
Awesome menu suggestion — healthful and delicious. Do you soak your raw almonds? For interesting background details and information on the benefits of soaking grains, nuts and seeds, check out: http://westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/be_kind.html

all my best!
I agree that soaking oats overnight is a great way to enjoy them… I don’t even need to cook them before eating them. The Swiss call it meusli and I call it yum. I haven’t soaked my almonds yet, though. I think I’m afraid they’ll taste grassy, but I’ll never know until I try it.
I read Weston Price’s book Nutrition and Degeneration; was impressed with the idea that it isn’t WHAT we eat so much as HOW PROCESSED it is.
Thanks for reading my blog. I enjoy yours on a regular basis.
